Light up a Life at St Gemma’s
We invite you to join us at St Gemma’s Hospice for our Light up a Life event. Join us for poems and songs, and be with us as we light up the trees at the Hospice.
Our event is a time for all the St Gemma’s community to come together and remember their loved ones. Listen to songs performed by the St Gemma’s Choir and the children of local primary schools, along with poems read aloud to bring everyone together as we celebrate the lives of those we have lost.
Before the ceremony please come and join us for a hot drink and mince pie in the warmth of the Hospice.
329 Harrogate Road, Moortown, Leeds, LS17 6QD
The café will be open at 3pm and the service will start at 4pm
Our support team
Before the ceremony you will have the chance to speak to our Bereavement and Family Support team, who will be around in the café to offer any support. We also have our companions for the ceremony back again this year. So if you are attending the service on your own, make yourself known to them, and they will be happy to support you throughout the ceremony.
We know many of you like to take this opportunity to support the Hospice. Our retail team will be selling our new Christmas card designs, along with Light up a Life pin badges and decorations.
This is an outdoor event and will take place in the main car park, which is accessible off Moorland Drive. Therefore, there won’t be any parking available in the grounds of the Hospice so please allow plenty of time to park in the local area.
As our ceremony takes place outside, please dress for the weather as it can get very cold.
There will be a few chairs available during the ceremony for those who are unable to stand. Please can we ask friends and family to stand if you can do so, as these seats are limited.
There are disabled toilets located inside the Hospice building, near the café.
A BSL interpreter will be in attendance during the ceremony located by the stage.
