About Light up a Life 2018
The Light up a Life Appeal will launch in October, when you can revisit this page to make a donation in memory of a loved one. In the meantime, below is some information about this year's Appeal and ceremonies.
Throughout the festive period, the Light up a Life Appeal provides an opportunity to remember our loved ones. Everyone is encouraged to join us by taking part, as we reflect and remember the special memories we have shared with those closest to us.
We invite you to make a donation in memory of as many people as you wish, and a light will shine for each of them on one of our festive trees. The lights will shine throughout the festive season from 2nd December until 5th January.
You can make a donation of your choice and then you will receive a special memorial card bearing the name of each person remembered. Your donation will help patients receive care from St Gemma’s when they need us the most.
We hope you can join us at one of our candlelit remembrance ceremonies:
Hospice Light up a Life Ceremony
Sunday 2nd December, 4:00pm
This will be in the Hospice grounds, where the thousands of lights will be switched on.
Immaculate Heart Church Ceremony
Wednesday 12th December, 6:30pm
This second ceremony will take place indoors at Immaculate Heart Church on Harrogate Road.
Alternatively, when you make your donation you can choose to recieve a Home Pack, which includes a candle, pin badge and readings for you to have your time of reflection whenever you choose.
The Appeal launches in October, and from then you will be able to donate in memory of your loved ones and dedicate a light in their name.
