About 40 Faces of St Gemma's Hospice

Many of us will access support from a hospice in our lifetime, either for ourselves or a loved one. But do we really know what they do?

This exhibition goes behind the scenes of St Gemma’s Hospice during our 40th Anniversary Year.
Portraits of 40 people, including patients, families, staff, volunteers and fundraisers will be on display at Leeds City Museum. Photographer Olivia Hemingway expertly captures each person in a natural and relaxed way, creating really personal portraits.

26th June - 23rd September
Leeds City Museum, Millenium Square, Leeds, LS2 8BH
Free Entry
Tuesday - Friday: 10:00 - 17:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 - 17:00pm

Death and dying is a difficult topic but it affects us all. These powerful portraits demonstrate strong feelings of hope, love, happiness, humour and bravery. The photographs have been taken in locations across Leeds, including at St Gemma's Hosipce, in peoples' own homes and in iconic settings such as Roundhay Park.

Each portrait is acompanied by the person's unique story, revealing the often surprising truth about hospice care. Wether you are strongly connected to St Gemma's Hospice or want to discover more, this exhibition will give you an insight into life at your local hospice
